Housing renewal activity has been on-going in the Anfield area for almost nine years. This activity is being undertaken by Your Housing Group and Liverpool City Council who are working closely together to secure the improvement of homes in the Anfield Village and Rockfield area. The focus is on refurbishment and new build opportunities across Anfield with a wider reaching regeneration plan for the surrounding areas planned.

In addition, Liverpool City Council is working closely with prospective homeowners from the area to ‘give homes back’ to the community – supporting them to bring housing, which was previously earmarked for demolition, back into use. More than 20 properties are being refurbished in this way, as part of a drive to encourage owner occupiers back into Anfield and help kick-start the housing market in the area.

Liverpool City Council is encouraging private owners to improve the frontage of their properties by providing loans for front environmental improvements. Home-owners in Anfield Village are also being offered financial assistance to undertake internal
improvements to their property. There will also be high quality landscaping and street scene improvements implemented throughout the area

Your Housing Group

With an investment programme worth more than £23m, more than 204 new and
refurbished homes already delivered, Your Housing Group plans an estimated further
investment of £10m across the next three years, helping to turn Anfield in to a destination of choice.

Through the restoration of historic terraced homes and an innovative two into one
remodelling project, which sees traditional terraced housing converted in to modern, larger family housing YHG recognises the need for a wholesale approach to regeneration and firmly believes that it’s not just about bricks and mortar.

Its proactive approach to apprenticeships, to transforming retail areas, building capacity in communities and crucially, to understanding the personality of neighbourhoods is proving to be the difference between success and failure.

The centre piece to the regeneration work being undertaken by Your Housing Group in
Anfield is the development of a new multi-million pound hotel and commercial units which will anchor the wider housing and environmental regeneration together creating the desire to live, work and play within Anfield.

Since 2005, some 15 hectares of land south of Walton Breck Road has been assembled transforming a largely derelict and undesirable place to live into a destination where real change is now being realised.

Keepmoat have to date completed three developments totalling 346 new energy-efficient homes with 52 more new homes under construction, all set in attractive, greener, safer housing environments with a total development value of over £41m. With the support of a successful Regional Growth Fund bid, proposals are currently being developed for concluding delivery of Keepmoat’s Masterplan for the wider area with a further phase of some 250 new homes. A new primary school and health centre have also been built.
